About
Hi, I’m Trinedy Kru—designer, creative, and founder of Ube Bread.
Ube Bread is inspired by my roots as a first-generation Filipina-American. Ube, the purple yam that flavors so many Filipino desserts, is both unique and comforting. And ube bread? It’s meant to be shared—torn apart and passed around the table with people you care about. That spirit of generosity and connection is what I bring to my work as a web designer.
I craft thoughtful, custom websites for small and community-rooted businesses. Whether you’re opening a café, launching a service, or bringing your side hustle to life, I’m here to help you make a beautiful first impression online.
Big companies can hire big design firms. Small business owners are often left to figure it out on their own—gambling on $5 designers or settling for templates that don’t quite fit and feel more frustrating than functional. That’s where I’m different.

Meet Trinedy
Hi, I’m Trinedy. I’m a Filipina-American web designer, writer, and mom of 4 living in Santa Monica. I help small businesses—especially mom-owned and minority-owned—create websites that feel like them: warm, honest, and thoughtfully made.
But like many things in life, my path here wasn’t exactly linear.
A Little Backstory
I started my design journey in 2009, after earning a BFA in product design from Columbia College Chicago—while raising my first son as a single mom. That experience shaped everything I believe in now: that creativity is powerful, that education should be accessible, and that everyone deserves the chance to build something meaningful.
Early in my career, I worked on everything from outdoor cookware to artist tools and trade show displays. But what I really loved were the projects that made someone’s day just a little easier or more joyful. I’ve always loved making things that are both practical and beautiful.
After moving to Los Angeles and growing my family, I went back to school for computer science at Santa Monica College. That’s when I discovered web design—a space where I could combine my love of visual design, problem-solving, and storytelling.
Since 2019, I’ve been designing websites for local businesses and creatives who want their digital presence to feel just as human as their in-person one.
What I Care About
I believe the web doesn’t have to feel cold or corporate. It can be personal. Reflective. Empowering.
Whether I’m working on a client project or writing a blog post, my goal is the same: to make design and technology feel a little less intimidating—and a little more like home.
I’m especially passionate about:
- Supporting small business owners who don’t speak “tech” but still want to show up online with confidence
- Mentoring junior designers and self-taught creatives who are figuring things out while juggling life
- Empowering women, moms, and underrepresented folks who have big dreams and messy schedules—just like I did
My Approach
I design like I live: with care, purpose, and plenty of room for imperfection.
My work blends my background in product design with a deep respect for storytelling, structure, and the way people actually use the web. I take the time to listen, ask questions, and make sure every detail supports a bigger picture.
I’m not here to sell you a “solution.” I’m here to build something honest—with you, not just for you.
Let’s Stay Connected
If you’re building something from scratch—or building something while holding everything else together—I see you.
I hope this little corner of the internet helps you feel more confident, more equipped, and more empowered to create something meaningful.
You can read my blog here, follow my thoughts on LinkedIn, or reach out if you’d like to work together.
We’re all figuring it out. I’d love to figure it out alongside you.
